Finger Cookies Recipe

Finger cookies represent a fun way of making and customizing your own cookies especially if you have children and you want to integrate them into the baking process. The cookies are normally provided for guest at Halloween parties, they are small that you can just grab them and go. If you have never had the chance to experiment with cookies in a fun way, take some time out to make some of these fun finger cookies.

Ingredients

  • 1 egg
  • 2¾ cups of all purpose flour
  • 1 cup of softened butter
  • 1 cup of powdered sugar
  • ½ cup of sliced almonds
  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 2 tablespoons icing glue
  • ¼ cup of powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of water

Directions

  1. Place the butter into the mixing bowl and use the electric mixer to cream it out.
  2. Add the sugar into the mixing bowl and continue to cream out the mixture and then add the eggs and the vanilla extract.
  3. Add the flour, salt and baking powder and beat out the mixture.
  4. Cover the mixing bowl and put the dough into the refrigerator for 30 minutes. Make sure the dough is not too sticky.
  5. Turn the oven on and preheat the oven to 325 degrees F
  6. Use your hands to roll in some finger shaped cookies and place it on the cookie sheet.
  7. Take the butter knife and make knuckle marks into the finger cookies. Create a nail into the finger cookie by flattening the front.
  8. Place the cookie sheet into the oven and allow it to bake for about 20 – 25 minutes until the fingers are slightly golden.
  9. When the cookies are done baked, take it from the oven and let it cool.
  10. Mix the powdered sugar and water into a bowl and mix them together to make the icing glue. Then use this to spread on the tips of the fingers and then allow the icing glue to dry for about 30 minutes.
